Fruitvale ISD is one of four school districts in East Texas to take part in UT-Tyler's University Academy initiative through the Texas ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) program. We are funded by the US Department of Education through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant and managed through TEA's Texas ACE program. Session II: 4:45 - 5:30
Session III: 5:45 - 6:30
We also provide six weeks of programming during the summer. Check back for more information regarding our summer course offerings.
K-12 student participants are provided with a free nutritional snack each day, as well as transportation home for those who ride the bus. While in ACE, our students receive small group intervention in core subject areas as well as homework assistance on a daily basis. When planning for other classes and activities, we aim at providing several opportunities to participate in STEM and PBL driven learning. Additionally, we strongly believe in creating an environment where students practice 21st century skills. Check out the following site for more details: http://p21.org.
We also apply PBIS strategies to assist students who may need extra attention with behavior management. To learn more about PBIS and its benefits visit www.pbis.org.
